Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is your fee?
Dr. Mejia-Murphy has a standard fee that can be discussed upon a free 10-minute consultation. For certain financial circumstances, she offers sliding scale rates.
For those who are uninsured or using self-pay, per the “No Surprises” Act, Dr. Mejia-Murphy will discuss a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) cost for treatment with you during the intake. The GFE will be based on the session fee, as well as the duration and frequency of sessions. The GFE is never an exact estimate and is dependent on fee changes, the individual client and their treatment goals.
-
Do you accept insurance?
Dr. Mejia-Murphy is an out-of-network provider for all insurance carriers. Patients are responsible for the full fee of the session and can inquire about out-of-network reimbursement with their insurance provider.
-
What if you do not accept my insurance?
Many insurance providers offer out-of-network (OON) reimbursement options. It is recommended that you ask your insurance carrier if your plan has out-of-network options, if there is an out-of-pocket deductible that first needs to be met, what the OON reimbursement percentage rates are, etc. Dr. Mejia-Murphy will provide you with the billing statements you need to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
